This Week in Romans: Yourself in Proper Perspective
How we see ourselves shapes how we live, how we relate to others, and how we respond to God.
In this week's message, Pastor Charles Glidewell reflects on Romans and the importance of seeing ourselves with humility, gratitude, and honesty. Scripture calls us neither to think too highly of ourselves nor to lose sight of our value in God's eyes, but to find a proper perspective grounded in His grace.
When we see ourselves rightly, we are better able to love, serve, and live faithfully.

A Few Takeaways
Humility begins with seeing ourselves honestly before God
Our value comes not from comparison with others, but from God's grace
A proper perspective leads to greater gratitude, service, and spiritual maturity
A Short Reflection
It is easy to measure ourselves by the standards of the world or by comparison with those around us. Romans offers a different path.
The passage reminds us that humility is not self-condemnation, nor is it self-promotion. Instead, it is the ability to see ourselves clearly: dependent upon God's grace, grateful for His gifts, and called to use those gifts in service to others.
There is freedom in that perspective. We no longer need to prove ourselves, defend ourselves, or elevate ourselves. We can simply live faithfully in the place God has called us.
Closing
If you have a few minutes, you may find it meaningful to spend some time with the message above.
Sometimes spiritual growth begins with something as simple—and as challenging—as learning to see ourselves rightly.
