Review of Fast-Starting A Career of Consequence by "Mogakaenock"

Following is a volunteer review of "Fast-Starting A Career of Consequence" by Fred Sievert

4 out of 4 stars

The scope of this book was when Fred Sievert’s daughter sought for advice on how to be successful in the cosmetics company as a young employee. The advice he gave to his daughter is what triggered him into coming up with such an expository book. In his book, Fast-Starting A Career of Consequence, the author articulates the dependence between profession and credence. He further explains how biblical principles can be applied in the work place and outlines steps in which one can achieve a successful career. He provides inclusive guides that worked for him when he was the president of a fortune 100 company.

Sievert delivers guidelines on how individuals who are newly joining work force or preparing to re-enter the job market after a long time away can succeed professionally. Sievert recommends utilization of God given abilities in the work place. He also references to Christ as a work partner and a helper when crises occur. He further explains how the Golden Rule can be practiced with co-workers and clients. He gives successful examples of companies that practice Christian core values and those that practice meaningful values as well.

What I love about this book is its motivating and informative nature. I got to know that some professional problems can be solved through prayer and faith. The author provides a balance between profession, family and faith. He also encourages people to be committed, integral and trustworthy. This book serves as an eye opener in that I was able to grasp a lot of things that will help me in my career life and even in life outside my career. I enjoyed reading the book given that it was exceptionally edited making my reading experience very smooth. There is nothing I disliked about this book.

With total contentment I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it is an indication that we all have a meaningful purpose in life. I also thought the author did a great job integrating religious concepts with everyone's professional aspirations as the trigger to a happy existence.

Fast-Starting A Career of Consequence focuses so much on Christianity but Sievert's tried-and-true business advice and skills may resonate with any audience at a time when several people are rethinking about their career options. I strongly recommend anyone with a shaky trust in God's calling to read the book to enhance their belief in what they believe. I also recommend that people whose professions have been affected by calamities should dive into this book as it will help them to come out with some long lasting solutions. A hand of applause to Fred Sievert.
